Hi,

I’m Verity, a former art and design student and still carry on making and creating to this day. I am also an eager lover of nature, which took me to participating in beach cleans, which I have been doing for the past 9 years.

I am a very keen recycler and will recycle and upcycle where I can, which is what led me to making these items.

They are made from material remnants that I can reuse or up-cycle, to create something new and beautiful. I help my partner run a leather repair business and therefore, we are often left with off-cuts, scraps and remnants of leather. I then, in-turn, decided to use this leather for making my products, rather than see it be discarded and find its way into the waste system. I also like to recycle other material remnants inc jeans, especially if they are beyond donating.

The remnants I use can be new, as they come from the edges of new hides that are not used in reupholstering. These are mainly leathers from Futura, ILP, Wildman&Bugby and Crest Leather.

The used leather i repurpose comes from salvaged items, such as sofas, armchairs, chairs, bags, jackets and even car interiors.

And rather than see it also being discarded, I will reuse packaging where possible. The majority of this packaging can be recycled, by separating the paper / card (recycling bin) bubble wrap, postage bags (recycle at supermarkets) and the Sellotape is biodegradable too !

All the gifts/items in my shop, are handmade in the UK by me.
